  2. AHHHHH! The ring beam!! Great to see it in place and topped off. I like the shot that showed that fine African lumber utilized in the ring beam. You know, the sticks! Ever inventive means success which is where you are headed. Perhaps by the time you read this the trusses will be up. Don't forget how the termites devoured the Pemba truss on the ground even before it was raised.
God bless your work as you RAISE THE ROOF!

  5. Thanks for the feedback everyone!!

Jim as you know using the sticks is a great way to reduce costs and materials. I will never forget how fast that truss got eaten in Pemba. This time around we used a wood preservative that keeps the termites away, and I always keep the timber elevated which also helps to keep that from happening.

Faith its been hard to keep the updates as regular as I would like it seems that when I try to post on the weekend there is no Internet, you know how it goes. The goon news is they have had a lot of guys digging trenches and laying conduit the past two weeks to bring the fiber optic cables from Eldoret which means that someday it will be better.
